ring a tonk monkey.

check this.

dude in london makes some songs. calls himself tin can telephone. i call him a sickhead.

musically and lyrically he is pure inspiration, bring on the summer and all that razzmatazz. you know he could blayt's make a buff winter album.

i'd produce it and we'd spend hours recording snow for ambience innit.

i keep having to remind myself of the difference between jealousy and envy...the line is thinning.

safe.

too true

add an R.
cut an E.
Bring in U.

troo trou. took me 8 listens of this song to work out the quickest way to get from too true to troo trou. 8 listens in i finally GET the song. and im gonna be stubborn and not have my 9th listen until its played in a club.

troo trou - french girl on the radar

The preview for what i am assuming is thier next song is a banger. [MySpaC3 iTT] the _ _ _ _ _ _ suprised me and took the song in a completely. new? derection.

and thier posters are dope.

but i dont think they'll ever get bigger then bjork or kanye.
perhaps if paul pulls his finger out they can match ratatatat though.

bjork - wanderlust (ratatat remix)

kanye west - get em high (ratatat remix)

DE CREPIN/CRECY

this impressed me major bum.

The wikipedia article on this player is jokes. He went to the same college as Alex Gopher and Air. His album, Super Discount, is credited as the first album of French Touch. His second album was, in his opinion, a blues album. He got his brother to direct the animated videos for the singles on said album.
His third album is Super Discount 2, bringing everything up to date, with all the tracks named after peer-to-peer clients like napster. (I just want to say, I was too young to be interested in downloading music when napster was about, so thats a whole kettle o fish i never got to dabble in)
oh. and when Etienne De Crecy speaks, if written down, it'd sound like this:
"you have to be autistic in working in the music industry not to realize that something happens through the MP3 exchanges. It’s not discount anymore! It’s free!” and adding “what the music industry doesn’t understand, is that young people will not build their own music culture if they don’t have free access to the music."

For sticking round, i reccomend

Etienne De Crecy - fast track live versus we are your friends

wanna catch air!?

catch some jokes. a dance song composed, slowly, by moi.

discontent discotheque - whose doing who?

know wing i win you lewes

saw this dude. and its like: i have to tell someone. housemates are out. got it. i'll tell the discontent discotheques imaginary fan club.

L.E.W.E.S H.E.R.R.I.O.T.

o.k. he's done a doodle for tubelord. definately not his bestest masterpiece. but still a masterpiece. I dont want to draw anymore. If I did all i'd want to do is do what he's doing. He has pretty much perfected exactly what i've been trying to find? master? doodle for the last couple o years since ive realised drawing is fun. It's the equivilant to studying Picasso at high school and thinking 'i aint got shit on this mah fahker. im gonna go play some soccer in the fields'.

im gonna show this to my illustrator housemate.

me "have a look at this, ed"

ed "ohhhh sick. where do you find this?"

me "uhhhhh.... dunno. just look at it though"

ed leans in, paying closer attention. he starts panicking. crying.

me "whats the matter?"

ed "i dunno where to look"

for his full catalogue, you wanna go right HERE. CLICk. CLIck. Click.

if the gentleman himself ever reads this and wants to do a discontent discotheque doodle. just a doodle? he'd go down in history and be the first artist to contribute towards The Book.

dinosaur vagina.

Photobucket

this is a photo-ma-graph of a band called DINOSAUR PILE-UP ....mint.

they're from Leeds, the dude in the middle writes all the song and his name is Matty. He is obsessed with Back to the Future and writing incredible pop rock songs. Really lo-fi sorta stuff, you know all those songs you write alone, hunched up on the edge of your bed and you can only imagine if you actually had an amp, drum kit and bass guitar to play along with your song and make you an underground cult hero?....no...just me? fair play. whatevs. well he makes you want to weep at the expense of how SOUND his tunes are. bare cotch basically.

over and out.

d.d

Crumbs....everywhere.

Photobucket

http://www.crumbproducts.com/comics.html

ROBERT CRUMB.
one of those dudes that once you begin to divulge into his back catalogue, you gain an overwhelming thought of "that's exactly what i think" and then begin to question your existence when you re-read one of his fantastical graphicals and notice the date....he wrote it in 1958.......fuck.

just when i thought our generation had a single strand of "we're the first to think like this" R.Crumb enters my life (or i enter his realm of dusty storyboards) and that thought is quashed into a teeny..teeny......irrelevent pea.

his comics provoke thought. without thought we're absolutely hideous so i thank him for that.
check it. indulge and be dominated through free-thinking comix.

d.d

MUD?....yeah mud..say what?

http://www.ukuleledisco.com/clips

basically, me and a friend were recording this song for his film the other day. he was cotchin' about strumming his Uke...starts chatting about this MUD website...

me: what are you chatting about i've never heard of MUD, is it about MD?

will: nah nah nah it's this website right, you know youtube?

me: ...erm...yeah.

will: exactly. right, well instead of loads of videos about everything imaginable, it's JUST for
people to upload videos of themselves playing Ukelale.

me: ahhhhhh jokes. like that bloke who can play 'as my guitar gently weeps' bare quickly

will: yeah pretty much

me: sweet, i'll put it up on the D.D blog.

will: ya what?

me: nothing...lets finish recording the song...

and so there it is. it's absolutely mint bruv.

d.d

waits. four tops and a blackalicious

Zebedy Rays

How come I had to find this out from a bulletin off the band themselves.
With a review like this "Zebedy Rays are possibly from another planet and they're just here to test us out and see if we're worthy."
TOXIC PETE

they
must be hot.
but seriously, they are. Imagine kings of leon's lead singer's wife having a baby and him getting drunk with the guys, but then hearing his home football team just lot the title by a point, and then his record label saying you need to write a song by tomoro.

Now listen to this song

zebadey rays - 18 and wandering
M83 is rather popular at the moment. I'm guessing he's near to releasing a new album. I only saw this for the first time yesterday by a film buff who never watches skate shows, but this isn't just skating. ev.eree.thing. works.

And talking of M83, this remix of the band, discontent discotheque, by prendergastly, is pretty hot on its M83 orchestral build up.

discontent discotheque - sure to clear the room (prendergastly remixed)

music from dublin...

always saves the day.

Photobucket

basically. heard of Schoolboy Error?........neither has she.

she creates sweet  songs that by the sounds of things are home recordings..which makes it even more impressive, none of that auto-tuned fall-out-boy-stuff-innit.

if you haven't clicked the link yet and aren't listening to her music you my good friend....are a mug.

d.d.

297 buff photographs

I got this off another blogmans blog. He made it with the intention of connecting art collectors and photo editors with the photographers. I just watch it for kicks. If you see one you like just click on the image and it'll take you to their website.

And I reckon if you start to watch this you wont stop. Its definately more positive then watching neighbours.

c.o.p.s.

If the police are the worst thing kicking about on these streets, i thought a post in tribute to all things good about cops would be positive.

kate copland? bournemouth university madam

Then ofcourse there is futurecop! these dudes... these dudes are hot. Originally i felt all the songs sounded the same. you might get that too.
I reckon the artwork will sell it to you alone

so go over and hang around on their myspace with the likes of michael jackson, the goonies, some gremlins.

note to self, google couldnt find anything cool about the real police.

note to yourselves. dont try to write on a policemans car.

tubelord are set to play my hometown

tubelord are one of these tiny bands coming out of kingston with speed. have you heard of them? no. Nor have I. I have. But seriously, I havent. (Dodgeball referance)
But i think the most important thing about this band is their ambition: to be the first band to ever to be compared to marmite, happily.
This is an epic song off their first e.p., Square.

Tubelord - Ultra-Machine Mp3

p.s. If you know of Colour, theres a video of them dancin to this song in a style i wanna see more of, on youtube. tubelord. youtubelord.
